“Alone or Unique? Diversity and Racism”

More than a hundred paintings and installations made by children aged from 3 to 14 years are currently exhibited in the Museum of Greek Children’s Art in Athens, whithin the framework of a project funded by the EEA Grants. The exhibition aims at raising awareness on the issue of racism to museum visitors of all ages. Norwegian Ambassador to Greece, His Excellency Eugene Gjelstad amongst many others participated in the opening of the exhibition.

The founders of the International Museum of Children’s art in Oslo, Rafael and Alla Goldin, played a significant role in planting the idea to establish the museum in Athens, adding it to the list of the very few worldwide museums that exhibit exclusively art works created by children. The Museum’s connection and collaboration with Norway is strong: the director of the International Museum of Children’s art in Oslo attended the Museum of Greek Children’s Art 20 year celebrations last year, and art works from the Norwegian museum are included in the “Alone or Unique? Diversity and Racism” exhibition.

The exhibition will run until June 1016 and it is a part of project called “Diversity and Racism” funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants.  By the end of this school year, 3500 children in kindergarten and primary school will have participated in programs carried out by the Museum of Children’s Art.
