Alternate FM Xydakis met with Dutch Ambassador

Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis, on Monday met at the Foreign Ministry with the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Greece, His Excellency Caspar Veldkamp, ahead of his meeting with the Dutch Foreign Minister.

During the discussion, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the collocutors focused on the presentation of the programme of the Netherlands Presidency, with particular emphasis on confronting the refugee/migration crisis and the need to find a European solution, with a strengthened relocation system.

Reference was also made to Greece’s efforts towards economic recovery.

FM Xydakis to meet with his European counterparts

Minister Xydakis will carry out a number of visits in the coming days to European capitals, where he will meet with his counterparts to brief them on Greece’s positions on matters of European interest, such as the migration/refugee crisis. The visits will be carried out in parallel and in collaboration with Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, who will be briefing his eurozone counterparts on the progress in the Greek programme.

On Tuesday, 12 January, Mr. Xydakis will travel to Amsterdam, where he will meet with Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders.

On Wednesday, 13 January, Mr. Xydakis will be in Berlin to meet with German Minister of State for Europe, Michael Roth.

On Thursday, 14 January, Mr. Xydakis will be in Brussels, where he will meet with the Greek MEPs.
