Poetic encounters: “Words (can) do it”

Two poets of different generations, Demetra C. Christodoulou and Eftychia Panagiotou, will read their own poems, old and new, published and unpublished, but also some of their favorite works by other poets. An open discussion with the audience will follow the reading.

Demetra C. Christodoulou’s first poetic collection, “Myrovlitos’ Horses”, was published in 1974. Since then, she has published twelve more poetic collections; her most recent poetry collection, entitled “Conscience’s Minimal Bread”, was published in 2014. In 2008, she was awarded the National Poetry Award for her book, “Famine”. She has also translated works by ancient Greek poets.

Eftychia Panagiotou’s first poetic collection, entitled “Grand Gardener” was published in 2007, followed by “Black Babeline” (2010) and “Dancers” (2014). She has also translated poems by Anne Sexton and others.
