Romanian modern art in Athens

The Embassy of Romania, in cooperation with Grecotel Palace Athena Boutique Hotel, presents an exhibition of Romanian modern art by artists Beba and Gabriel Gramma. The exhibition is taking place on the occasion of the Romanian Traditional Day of Martisor and the International Women’s Day. It will open its doors on March 1st and will last until April 30th.

Gabriel Grama will present his paintings under the title “Architectural Passages”. Grama is a sculptor, painter and interior decorator. He has held 4 solo exhibitions in collaboration with DDGallery Athens, the Embassy of Romania and the Municipality of Athens. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and in three International Sculpture Symposiums in Greece and two International Painting Symposiums in Romania and India. Apart from sculpture, he has been working with the Byzantine Icon, with frescoes and paintings, as he likes to frequently change styles and modes of expression. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.

Romanian painter and graphic artist Maria Nedelcov, also known as Beba, will present her engravings, under the title, “Scent of a Woman”. Beba is a central figure in the post-modernist movement. Born in Athens, with a trail of work that led her from Europe to the Middle-East to North America and back, her joyful works have delighted the eye for over ten years. Her art is noted by a very strong nonetheless delicate visual elegance and a sensitive creative appeal. The candor of message that transpires from her art is considered one of the best in the world.
