The “StartTel Aviv 2016” competition promotes Greek start-ups

The Embassy of Israel in Greece and Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC), a Greek organization established with the vision of creating an ecosystem that fosters and promotes innovative entrepreneurship, are organizing a competition for Greek start-uppers. The “StartTel Aviv 2016” is organized for the second time in Greece and aims at promoting start-ups and the cooperation between Greece and Israel on innovation.

Last’s year’s event was also a success with 44 participant companies, from the fields of medical technology, mobile phone applications, computer schience and others.  Start-up companies should submitt their applications by May 20th, 2016. The winner will be unvailed during an event on June 15th in Athens, with the participation of members of the jury from Greece and Israel. The winner will participate in a five day professional international start-up seminar at the DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival, which will take place between September 25-29, 2016 in Tel Aviv.

During a press conference on Tuesday, the Ambassador of Israel in Athens Her Excellency Irit Ben-Abba spoke of the advanced level of start-ups in Israel, a country that currently includes 5 thousand start-ups and hundreds of Reasearch and Development centers operated by multinational companies. She also said that Israel was seeking ways of expanding its collaboration with Greek start-uppers, while the Embassy has been supporting entepreneurship by organzing various events, workshops, conferences and meetings between Greek and Israeli experts.
