Mentorship program for young entrepreneurs by Israel-NBG

The Ambassador of Israel, Her Excellency Irit Ben-Abba, and the corporate management of the National Bank of Greece announced the launching of a new mentorship program for Greek entrepreneurs by Israeli experience entrepreneurs, who will act as mentors at an innovation awards event of NBG on May 25th.

The program will officially begin on June 1st,  andit  is a cooperation between the National Bank of Greece and Israeli Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), Israel’s largest umbrella organization, representing the high tech and life science industries including VCs, startups, Israeli and international banks, multinationals, etc.  It has been realized with the active collaboration of the Embassy of Israel in Athens.  IATI is actively seeking to develop cooperation with Greece and other business ecosystems around the world.   In the case of Greece, the aim is for Israeli experts to provide know-how and guidance to young Greek startup entrepreneurs in developing their businesses.

The official mentorship program between Israel and NBG is the first of its kind in Greece.  It is part of a series of initiatives to promote Greek-Israeli cooperation in innovation and startup entrepreneurship in the framework of an MoU for cooperation in these fields signed by the Prime Ministers of Israel and Greece, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr. Alexis Tsipras during the latter’s visit to Israel in January this year.

The following distinguished Israeli mentors will visit Greece on June 1st for the beginning of the program:

Karin Mayer Rubinstein, CEO of IATI

Yossi Moldawsky, Co-Founder&Chairman PLUS Ventures

Itzik Fried, CEO and Managing Partner Tawkin Labs

Eran Wagner, General Partner Israel Gemini Ventures

Amiram Harel, a businessman with  42  years of experience in management and project planning in Israel and abroad, including experience in large defense and civilian industries like Rafael, L3-Wescam, Seraphim Optronics LTD and  Plasan Sasa.
