Polish humanitarian aid for refugees in Greece

1,000 sets of individual preventive medical kits were delivered to Greece last week by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland as the humanitarian assistance in the refugee crisis. This medical equipment should support the Greek and international services in providing urgent medical assistance to refugees and immigrants currently residing on the territory of Greece.

Poland stands ready to support the Greek government and intrenational organisations in managing the refugee crisis. Polish Border Security guards have been increasingly engaged in the FRONTEX operations in Greece and asylum experts have been part of the EASO mission. Additionally, Polish Fregate Tadeusz Kosciuszko has been supporting NATO Operation on the Aegean Sea.

The delivered assistance offered to the Greek Government was agreed upon during the official visit to Athens of H.E. Antoni Macierewicz, Polish Minister of National Defence, which took place on May 23rd, 2016.
