DESCRIPTION:Upon completion of 14 years of the events of April 11\, 2002 - the tragic event where the extreme right carried out the macabre coup - the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Athens\, recently organized a photographic exhibition in the cultural space "Francisco de Miranda”\, to show\, through images\, those facts that made an entire nation mourn.\n\nThe visitors had the opportunity to witness a complete photographic exhibition of the renowned French journalist and former editor of Le Monde Diplomatique\, Maurice Lemoine\, entitled “April 2002: Coup Media and Popular Resistance". The exhibition consists of a live report on the violent events that took place in the capital of Venezuela\, and the subsequent rescue of democracy by the Venezuelan people\, achieving the return of President Chavez\nLemoine was an eyewitness to the events in Puente Llaguno\, which allowed him to share with the invitees his testimony to the media and international conspiracy that took place during 11 and 12 April.\n\nOn the same note\, the visitors of the exhibition were able to watch the documentary entitled “Venezuela\, the first media coup” of the MEP of Syriza and journalist\, Stelios Kuloglu\, which consists of a historical collection and interviews with those involved on the events.\n\nThe ambassador of Venezuela\, Farid Fernandez\, gave thanks to the attendees\, expressing his gratitude to the photographer and journalist\, Maurice Lemoine\, for his work\, highlighting the importance of this exhibition in the heart of Athens which coincides with the launch of the third edition of the magazine "Chavez Vive".\n\nThe event was attended by several representatives of political factors\, including the Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament\, Tasos Kourakis; the deputy Governor of Attica\, Petros Filípu; the representative of Rena Duru\, Governor of Attica\, Katerina Paliú; the MP of Syriza\, Dimitrios Risos; the Ambassador of Cuba\, Osvaldo Cobacho; the Ambassador of Palestine\, Marwan Toubassi; the diplomatic corps accredited in Greece\, members of the ​​culture area\, journalists\, associations and representatives of the Venezuelan and Latin American-Hellenic community.
