Greece’s lenders currently in Athens

The first of a series of meetings between Greece’s economic staff and its lenders took place in Athens on Wednesday morning. Representatives of three European institutions and the International Monetary Fund are currently in Athens to review reforms the Greek government adopted on October 16th and discuss on further financial obligations the country needs to commit to in order to secure a 2 billion euro payment.
The amount is part of an initial loan tranche of 23 billion euros, that includes a 10 billion euros payment for the recapitalization of Greece’s banking system.
