Japan-Greece: Meeting through music and poetry

The Japanese Embassy in cooperation with the Greek-Japanese Association organise a concert entitled “Japan-Greece: Meeting through music and poetry” devoted to traditional Japanese poetry haiku, and Japanese compositions and contemporary Greek and foreign artists. The concert will take place at the Auditorium of the Institute of Fine Arts & Music B & M Theocharakis on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 8.30pm.

The internationally acclaimed artists participating are (in alphabetical order):

Samssuli Jasmina – Piano

Shimizu Kaoru – Mezzo Soprano

Shoji Shie – Mezzo Soprano

Toumanidis Michailangelos – Guitar

Farazis Takis – Piano

In the first part of the event, the poet, anthologist and scholar of Greek Haiku Christos Toumanidis will recite poems of distinguished Japanese and Greek haiku poets, accompanied by classical guitar original music soloist Michailangelos Toumanidis.
