The Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce held its vasilopita cutting ceremony
The Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (HSCC) on Februay 11th hosted the annual Pita-Cutting and Networking Ceremony at the Swedish Residence.
The event was attended by the chairman of the HSCC, Mr. John Saracakis, the Swedish Ambassador in Athens, Her Excellency Charlotte Wrangberg and some 40 guests, who were keen to exchange ideas, visions and opportunities.
Ambassador Wrangberg welcomed the guests, praised the success in the recent year by Swedish companies in Greece, and highlighted the importance of nourishing good relations. Both between the Embassy and the HSCC, as well as between the two countries in general. Mr. Saracakis expressed his wish for continued good cooperation and promoted upcoming events such as the Waste Management Forum to be hosted later this spring.
As the evening drew to a close, Mr. Saracakis gathered the guests in front of the traditional vasilopita before making the first ceremonial cut. In accordance with Greek tradition, a coin was hidden inside the cake. The guest who won the piece with the coin, will be blessed with a year full of good fortune and prosperity.
