“Manos Hadjidakis inspires”
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary since the birth of the great, Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis, six Greek contemporary composers present works of theirs that were inspired by the artist’s life and music or by works that he personally liked.
The concert is organized by the Bachelor of Music program (BM) of Hellenic American College (HAEC) in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) and the Greek Composers Union. The event shall take place at the Auditorium of Hellenic American Union (22, Massalias Street) on February 23, 2016, 20:30.
The concert’s program includes works by Thodoros Antoniou, Spiros Deligiannopoulos, Leonidas Kanaris, Iakovos Konitopoulos, Giorgos Kouroupos and Alexandros Papastefanou.
The following musicians will participate in the concert: Artemis Bogri, Dafni Panourgia and Sofia Papadimotropoulou (voice); Alexandra Papastefanou, Titos Gouvelis, Spiros Deligiannopoulos and Petros Bouras (piano), Giorgos Mouloudakis and Mihalis Kontaxakis (guitar), Giorgos Armanis (double bass) and the string quartet L’Anima.
Thodoros Antoniou and Giorgos Kouroupos, close friends and collaborators of Manos Hadjidakis will introduce the concert and talk about the composer and his work.
