The 15th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival kicks off in Athens
The African Embassies and Honorary Consulates accredited to the Hellenic Republic, in collaboration with the communities, invite you to the “15th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival” to be held on May 21 and 22, 2016 at the premises of “The Moraitis School” in Psychiko.
The African countries participating in the festival will be showcasing and promoting the rich and diverse African culture and heritage including cuisine, handicrafts, music, dance and fashion show.
In celebration of 15 successful years of the African Festival, a photo exhibition by Maria Michalinos (photographer-journalist) will be on display so as to reminisce in the memories of the past 15 years. Children will be able to enjoy entertainment corners through various activities.
The African kiosks namely, Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia & Zimbabwe will be placed on the premises of “The Moraitis School”, offering visitors a chance to acquaint themselves with the customs of each country, while handicrafts and clothing will be available.
The area will also accommodate tables and chairs where visitors will have an opportunity to taste and enjoy various African cuisine and drinks.
Funds raised from the 14th African Food, Music and Handicraft Festival will be donated during the official opening of the 15th African Food, Music and Handicraft Festival to charity.
