Deputy FM Mardas met with Swedish Ambassador and business representatives

The Swedish Ambassador in Athens, Her Excellency Charlotte Wrangberg on Tuesday hosted Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Dimitris Mardas and some 15 Swedish company representatives for a breakfast meeting at the Swedish residence.

The primary purpose of the meeting was for the business representatives to brief Minister Mardas about their company operations, future plans and concerns. It was also an opportunity for Mr. Mardas to express the government’s view on the current economic situation and vision for the future.

Ambassador Wrangberg emphasized the contributions to the Greek economy by Swedish companies, regarding employment, exports and also for transferring Swedish values and ideas. Mr. Mardas stressed the importance of foreign investments and how vital it is for Greece to enhance its international competitiveness. Following the presentations by the business representatives, a fruitful discussion ensued.

The Minister took note of all the views expressed by the companies and showed great interest in following up on the comments and concerns expressed.
