Swedish team to support refugees in Athens
The first shipment of emergency supplies from Sweden, aiming to support the refugees, who are currently stranded in Greece, will soon be delivered to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GSCP) in Greece.
An initial team from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has already arrived in order to properly receive and attend the delivery. The Swedish Embassy’s First Secretary Anna Areschoug and Migration Officer, Despina Tsoukala, on March 22nd received three team members Britta Ramberg, Ulrika Edén and Anna Psaroulis at the Swedish Embassy’s premises in Athens.
The Swedish aid will consist primarily of accommodation support for refugees, such as tents, heaters, beds and blankets, and will be delivered in two phases in the next couple of weeks.
