Political consultations between Greece, Chile, Argentina and Brazil
Political consultations were recently held by the Foreign Ministry’s Political Affairs Director, Ambassador Petros Mavroidis, with his counterparts from Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
In Mr. Mavroidis’ high-level official meetings in Santiago (May 6), Buenos Aires (May 9) and Brasilia (May 10), the very good level of relations Greece maintains traditionally with all of these countries was ascertained, and a shared willingness was reaffirmed for further development of cooperation in a number of sectors of common interest.
More specifically, Mr. Mavroidis’ talks covered the prospects for expanded cooperation in the political, economic/trade, education and culture sectors. Also explored were ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the defence sector, and views were exchanged on global and regional issues. Ambassador Mavroidis set out Greece’s positions on issues of national interest, as well as on the refugee and migration crisis.
