State of Play: EU measures to address the refugee crisis

In September, European Commission presented a set of priority actions to implement the European Agenda on Migration to be taken within the next six months. This included both short term actions to stabilise the current situation as well as longer term measures to establish a robust system that will bear the test of time. The list of priority actions set out the key measures immediately required in terms of: (i) operational measures; (ii) budgetary support and (iii) implementation of EU law.

ELSTAT surveys labour market situation of migrants and family members

ELSTAT announced the results of the ad hoc survey on the labour market situation of migrants and their immediate descendants. The target population of the survey was persons aged 15 – 64 years. The response rate of the ad hoc survey was 91.2%. For the purposes of the survey the persons that were born abroad or had, at least, one parent born abroad were considered as persons with migrant background.
