Tourism revenues hit record high in 2015
Tourism revenues increased by 6% in 2015 and reached 14,195 million euros, according to data released by the Bank of Greece. Arrivals reached 23.6 million (+7.1% compared to 2014), which is also a record.
Revenues by US tourists increased significantly by 44.4%, compared to 2014. Also revenues from British holidaymakers increased by 30.5%, from Germans by 13.6%, while the French spent 6.6% more during their stay.
On the other hand revenues from the Russian market decreased by 63.2%.
Revenues in December 2015 increased by 12.2% and reached 205 million euros, while foreign tourism arrivals declined by 9.3 percent, compared to December 2014.
